Women’s Weekend R & R

Women’s Weekend R & R (& R & R & R & R) Retreat

Hosted by Teresa Marchese of Rock Solid & Boo Martin of Stepping Stones Farm and Retreat Center

Life happens and it wears us down, sometimes our shine dulls or our spark darkens. Sometimes we need a shot in the arm, a kick in the butt, a few hours with a horse, a massage, or a dance party.  Sometimes we need some guidance, support, inspiration and divine feminine mojo. And sometimes we need to just get away, breathe in the fresh air, take off our shoes, and feel the grass between our toes (with not a chore for days)!

Join us and your soon-to-be new women friends for a fun-filled weekend on a beautiful, rustic lodge at Stepping Stones Farm and Retreat Center. We have put together a program that combines Rest, Relaxation, Rejuvenation, Reinvigoration, Reinvention, a deep Refresh and a fresh Resolve.

Your Time
You will have time to relax, walk the grounds, chat with new friends, get a massage, sit around the Fire Circle and gaze at the stars. Your time is yours, though we think you will enjoy taking part in some of the activities we have planned! You will have your choice of 2 of 6 amazing workshops, including outdoor adventuring, Wisdom Horse equine experience, baking, beautiful ancient hand-crafts, and guided creative activities, including a painting project with an amazing artist, Jay Mercado. We will be offering yoga, a Morning Glory dance class, and several activities to connect mind, body, earth and spirit. We are also serving up the colors of fall and fresh, crisp autumn air. However you decide to spend your time, your heart and soul will be elevated, and your cup will be filled.
Your space

Rustic, rural and relaxed, there is no better place than Stepping Stones Farm and Retreat Center (link here) to reconnect with the land, and to sink back into the woman you know yourself to be.  This warm and welcoming environment offers you peace, community, and loads of opportunities for adventure. With a heritage of hospitality that extends back to before the American Revolution, you will find historical interest everywhere you look. With our horses and chickens, honking geese flying south, birds singing, and crickets chirping, you will find comfort in this special oasis.

We hope you will opt for an on-site stay where you will enjoy quiet nights sleeping in our Lodge, shared or single rooms available. Of course, you are welcome to stay in your own local home, or find alternative lodging and join us for the full daily and evening schedule. Teresa Marchese

Spearheading an innovative and intrepid approach to wellness, Rock Solid founder, Teresa Marchese, is the catalyst for change in the bodies and lives of women who are ready to say yes to themselves. After years of working in corporate management and consulting, she took a challenging turn by pursuing and earning a law degree. The parallel challenge, it turns out, was staying healthy, happy and solvent during this intense time. So she took that on, too, and started a business where, not only would these needs would be met for her, but also for a growing tribe of like-minded Rock Solid women. Rock Solid Fitness was San Francisco’s first outdoor women’s fitness club.

Rock Solid grew and evolved as the last decade has seen Teresa become an expert in fitness, nutrition, detoxification, and inspired wellbeing. Her goal is to empower women to lead extraordinary lives—to take their health into their own hands, and walk the world with strength, confidence, courage, power, and passion. She believes in getting back to basics, back to the elemental truth and timbre of life. Eating well. Moving often. Loving. Living. Laughing. Forging a path forward, smiling, with arms wide, eyes open, and heart full.

Teresa’s fitness and wellness programs have been featured in Health Magazine, Sunset magazine, the San Francisco Chronicle, KRON 4 news in San Francisco, MSNBC.com and CNN.com.
She has since moved to New Hampshire to start a new adventure and build a Rock Solid life in, and bring her services, retreats and events, to New England.

Boo Martin

Boo is the Co-Facilitator of this retreat. In her 60 years of living on Stepping Stones Farm, she has led countless retreats and gatherings of all kinds. She brings her love of people, the land and its animals as she shares her expertise with horses, nature and history. Let her share her zest, optimism and spirit with you for an amazing get away from all that is hard, sad and isolating in our current world. Boo has recently completed a national certification course in Equine Experiential Learning and Education that complements her many other national certifications and Master’s Degree. She will share her new learnings and discoveries with you and the horses who live with her at the farm. For anyone who loves animals, this will be a fun, creative and meaningful experience for all who participate. No prior horse experience is necessary! Her love of retreats held at the farm is contagious and will help you to unwind and de-stress. Join her and the Stepping Stones Team for a weekend that you will not soon forget!

Jay Mercado

Jay Mercado was raised in San Francisco during an era when pop art, psychedelic posters and underground comics flourished. That bold aesthetic, mixed with a vibrant culture of street artists and grand scale public art from previous generations, became early artistic influences that still inspire him today.

After attending UCLA, he spent 15 years in Los Angeles in a prestigious advertising firm, until he ultimately switched paths. While studying at Art Center College of Design, California College of Arts and Crafts, and Academy of Art College, Mercado cut his teeth painting for two mural studios in Santa Monica. As a budding muralist, he served on teams assigned to paint scenes for private residences and commercial spaces including panoramic vistas for Las Vegas luxury hotels. Ready to build a solo art career, Jay returned to San Francisco where he worked as a fine artist and muralist for 30 years. He says, “My work is inspired by the world around me, the things I see and touch and experience as a member and observer of this diverse, innovative, beautiful world.” His works are in homes, businesses and galleries worldwide.
Having recently relocated to Temple, New Hampshire, his paintings are sure to reflect the beauty of his new home.

Pricilla (Cilla) Wheeler

Cilla grew up helping her mother run a Swedish restaurant. All the veggies, roots and herbs were garden-grown – the bread, pastries and pies all home-made. Baking has forever been a true love of hers, and she is always making friends and family moan with delight as they enjoy her creations. Although she feels like she has tried every recipe under the sun (and invented others), Cilla invariably finds herself drawn to something new. Pies and pie crusts have always been a favorite and she is excited to share her tricks and tips with you.

Ivy Bibbler

Ivy Bibler landed in Temple after a 30 year career in banking, enabling her to finally work and play with textiles. Scarcely tall enough to see the table top where her mother sewed her family’s clothes, she began to understand the utility of sewing. Throughout her life she relied on her sewing skills to bring a vision to reality in creating a home for her and her two daughters.

Now retired she is able to dive headlong into exploring ways to create with textiles. The interplay of fabric, dye, hand stitching, creating resists through twisting, folding and clamping never fails to reveal a jaw dropping design. Honor is given to traditional shibori embellished Japanese ceremonial robes that took months to sew in intricate designs. Today Ivy relies on traditional shibori techniques, immersion dying, bleaching, screen printing and sewing to create.

Jaya Hoesch

Jaya is a former Waldorf teacher for many years. Her patient, joyous and calming demeanor helped hundreds of kids relax and learn. Now, as a licensed Massage Therapist, she is an amazing healer. Using a variety of well researched methods of Oriental Massage including Acupressure, Foot Reflexology, Cupping, Cranial Sacral, and Reiki, as well as divine natural Lotions and Potions, she will soothe and gently relax your body. This is an optional extra. Please sign up on the Registration Form so she can plan. The cost is $90 for a 1½ hour on-site massage. You will truly be amazed by her healing touch. Available before, during and after programming.

Frank Ciardelli

Frank brings zest and great joy to his cooking. He loves to use fresh ingredients, getting as much as he can from local farmers. He takes great care to select his meats, breads, produce and desserts to fit the season as well as the folks he serves. He loves to combine a variety of spices to make unusual and tasty dishes. Having grown up in a big Italian family where the men were the main cooks, it is his passion to feed people. He lives into this passion with hard work, a hearty laugh and a lot of creativity. We are delighted to have him as our Private Chef for our guests at Stepping Stones Farm and Retreat Center.
